I have always loved books ever since I learnt to read. The sort of person who would look at an instruction manual if there were nothing else available. Not that that has happened too often - I have tottering piles of books not to mention e books. I will read almost anything as l long as it holds my interest. Besides books. I love music, photography, cryptic crosswords and playing Fitz 1 & 2 games.
For Reasons Unknown - MICHAEL WOOD

20 years ago an 11 year old boy witnesses his parents murder and the shock turns him mute for a while. Now it's a cold case and DCI Mathilda Darke, on her return to work, is asked to solve the mystery. Although this set up has been done several times before - a DCI with problems, woman boss, jealous cop who resents the returnee, etc etc, I did enjoy this book very much and read it pretty much in one sitting. Fast paced indeed and very engrossing. Looking forward to DCI Darke's next case!
